Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the repair smartphone.

General Questions

What types of devices do you repair?

We repair it all! Whether you have an iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Pro, or even a custom gaming PC, we can repair it for you.

We have years of experience between our technicians on repairing all types of electronic devices. We have re-soldered components onto motherboards, fixed TV’s, gaming consoles, and more. When it comes to electronics repair, we are your #1 source.

I tried repairing my smartphone myself, can I still send or bring it in for repair or diagnostic?

That’s not a problem at all! We get many DIY’ers in our stores who need a little more help than they originally thought 🙂 No matter what the case, we’re here to help.

I have multiple devices I need repaired, can I get a deal by doing multiple devices at once?

This really depends on what types of repairs we will be performing. You can definitely contact us and we will be able to talk with you about quantity discounts.

Do you guys repair my device? I don't see it on the website.

We can repair just about any device! Just drop us a line using the contact us form or give us a call at 1 (904)-373-0063 Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM for more information about your repair. We can normally give you a quote over the phone for a repair, but if we cannot, we can always get back in touch with you once we have researched the parts needed for the repair.

Do you offer enterprise accounts for businesses or school systems?

We do! We have many enterprise customers spread all over the USA. We offer discounts to school systems, other computer repair shops, and even businesses that want us to service their computers, tablets, and phones.

We offer an easy solution to all enterprise customers for billing and pricing. If you would like more information on becoming an enterprise customer, please use the chat at the bottom of the page, check out our Business/EDU page, or email us at techsupport@irepairfast.com!

Mail in Repair Questions

What devices can I mail in for repair?

No matter what type of electronic device you have, we can most likely fix it. If your device is different from the normal phone or computer, you can always contact us and ask if it’s something we can repair, or you can check out with our diagnostic service and we can evaluate it once we have it at our store.

What should I include when I am shipping my device to you?

We only need your device. Please, do not include any accessories when you ship your device in. If you are sending in a laptop computer or tablet, you may include the original charger with the device. If you have any question on whether or not you should include something in the package, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Do I need to include my password when I send my device in?

We highly recommend sending any passwords you think we may need when you ship your device to us. If it is a phone, please send the passcode to enter the device as that is how we will perform our tests before and after the repair is completed. If you are sending in a laptop or desktop computer, please send your password that you use to log into the computer on an administrator account so we can properly run our diagnostic and repair utilities.

If you do not provide your password or passcode, we cannot fully test your device. We do not have magical equipment that allows us to bypass passwords or passcodes and gain access to locked devices. Without your password or passcode, we will not be able to fully ensure that the repair is finished and meets our expectations. If you still wish to withhold your password when sending your device in, you are more than welcome to, just know that we cannot run our full diagnostic and repair suites, and we cannot check every function of the phone or tablet you send in without that password or passcode.

Do I need to send my SIM or SD card when I send my device?

While we don’t need the SIM or SD card, it makes it easier for us to test things, especially when there are potential storage or signal issues on the device. In the end, sending your SIM or SD card is up to you.

Liquid Damage Service

What should I do if my device falls in water or another liquid?

Do not turn on or charge your device. When the device is water damaged, there are most likely parts of the motherboard that are short-circuiting. If you have the ability to remove the battery, please do. If you cannot make it into our store immediately, leave the device powered off and ship it to us as fast as you can. The faster you can get us the device, the better.

My device was water damaged and now everything seems to work fine except for one function, do I still need the full water damage service?

No matter to what extent your device was water damaged, we will always recommend a full water damage cleaning. Sometimes it can be something as simple as a faulty part, or it could be as deep as a corroded or bad fuse on the motherboard.

How long do water damage repairs take to complete?

Water damage repairs generally take between 24 and 72 hours to complete depending on the level of damage. This estimate can vary, however, depending on the extent of the damage to the motherboard and other components.

Glass & LCD Replacement Service

Only my glass is cracked, why is the repair so expensive?

With modern smartphones and tablets, the glass and LCD (display) are fused together. This causes it to be more expensive to replace, as we cannot just replace the top glass layer, but we have to replace the entire glass/LCD assembly.

How do I know if I need the LCD replaced or not?

If the actual screen of your device looks like it’s “bleeding”, is solid white or black, or has any dead pixels, the LCD is likely damaged and needs replacing. If you’re still not sure, you can send a picture of the current condition of your device while it is powered on to techsupport@irepairfast.com and we will do our best to let you know what type of repair your device will need.

After dropping my phone it has become unresponsive to touch, does the screen replacement fix this issue?

Normally yes, replacing the screen will fix touch responsiveness on your device. The digitizer is what actually captures the touch input on your phone, and that is part of most phone screens.
